Victims of Domestic Abuse Are Failed by Society Inaction
I feel compelled to share Sara's tragic story especially since we are constantly working on resources for the most vulnerable section of society.
Resources, like our books for domestic abuse, are only 1 part of the support plan for victims like Sara. Yes, resources are incredibly effective in teaching and supporting victims and helpers to be able to advocate for themselves and others.
But we NEED teachers, neighbours, social workers, family members, friends to know what to do when they see the signs.
And the "What To Do" needs to be simple, easily accessible, and actionable for ANYONE. This is where victims are being failed on a daily basis.
These cases make me angry and heartbroken in equal measure because we all know the grim truth - that this could have been avoided 100%, this child did not have to die, and she was failed by a broken system.
